A HELPING HAND

The story behind the photo below is something I would like to share. I’m about one hour outside of Port au Prince. And negotiating the hills in an old Mazda truck is a challenge. We have to stop every so often to let the brakes cool because they would overheat and start to smoke. When we had to pull over we were out of water and conveniently a family lives a top the cliff you see in the photo. They were quick to help; the way the boy walked down the steep incline was definitely something. With no shoes in 95 degree weather, a helping hand when we least expected. It goes to show we do not need a lot to help one another. Another day and another truly humbling experience.

You can see the scale of the cliff by looking for the boy’s family in the top right corner of the photograph.
